The house is beautiful, but I was surprised that it includes so many modern and European design choices- decor I wouldn’t expect to find in New Mexico. But then again, I’ve never actually been to New Mexico so who knows!

One of my favorite rooms of the house is the dining room. I love the use of natural fabrics and the airy feel of the room. But you don’t need a multi-million budget to achieve this look. Check out how I recreated this room using more affordable furnishings from Ikea, Target, and Bellacor.

I was able to re-create this entire room (including table with 6 chairs) for less than the cost of just the original Ethan Allen dining table! So what do you think? Does me recreation compete with the original room? And how do you like this year’s “Dream House?”

I love ikea! Dream home looks great, but do they ever say who pays the taxes? Your re-creation is very affordable!
You're responsible for all associated taxes and closing costs. But the grand prize also comes with a check for $500,000 so that should cover the taxes for a while!
