Our Costa Rican Honeymoon

You've already seen how we celebrated our first wedding anniversary and then our second, and I've shared some of the details of our wedding ceremony and reception (more to come this week) but I haven't spilled the beans on our honeymoon yet.  So pack your imaginary bags and join me on a little virtual honeymoon to Costa Rica!

Rob and I wanted to go someplace warm, tropical, and exotic for our honeymoon so we chose Costa Rica and we're so happy that we did.  Costa Rica was gorgeous and we had an amazing time!  We split up our time in Costa Rica and spent half the trip exploring the rainforest and a volcano and the other half enjoying a luxurious beach resort.

For the first leg of our trip, we stayed at El Silencio Del Campo a hotel consisting of individual little villas.

Inside, the room had a tropical decor that is unique and traditional to Costa Rica:

But the best part of the hotel (besides the yummy food) was the lush tropical surroundings.  The hotel was near a beautiful rainforest and had a prime view of the Arenal volcano.  Here's the big guy on a somewhat foggy day:

During our stay in the Arenal region, we did some exploring and took a few hikes through the rainforest- it was beautiful!

Despite not being very fond of heights, we also took a tour through hanging bridges in the rainforst canopy.  The bridges were very high up, but the views made the slightly scary hike well worth it!

We had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend Costa Rica!  Stayed tuned for a virtual journey into the rest of our honeymoon later this week.  If you had a honeymoon, where did you go?
